College Admissions Workshops

Returning for 2025, our annual College Admissions Workshop series routinely propels attendees to a strong start to admissions season.

New for 2025 is also our Road-to-College Workshop. This Workshop for Sophomore and Junior students is designed to guide students on course selection, managing extracurriculars and resume building, and school search guidance.

2025 Road-to-College Workshops:

Our newest Workshop offering is for rising Sophomore and Junior students seeking guidance on high school course selection, resume building opportunities for their summers away from school, feedback on managing extracurriculars, and college research best practices to build an efficient and rounded list of schools to visit and apply to. This Workshop is for families hoping to get their student engaged in the process and excited for their academic futures by giving them a targeted, specific “to-do” list at this point in their high school journey.

2025 College Admissions Workshops:

Our flagship offering series for rising Seniors, The Learning Curve’s College Admissions Workshops have empowered students from the Lake Norman area to successful college admissions seasons for nearly 10 years. Our workshops provide attendees with personalized instruction on preparing their Common App Personal Statement (the admissions essay required of all college applicants) as well as guidance on what to expect with school-specific supplemental essays. Students routinely leave the Workshop with a drafted, revised, and finalized essay that has been fully vetted and copy-edited by our Admissions Counselor, Thomas Simonson.

Additionally, students who finalize their personal statement during the Workshop will receive guidance on additional admissions topics they most need help with, such as resume preparation, essays on extracurriculars, hardship/obstacle statements, diversity essays, school interest statements, and scholarship essays!

  • All Workshops are offered in-person at The Hurt Hub@Davidson on the date listed.

  • When registering, please provide both your email and your student’s email to ensure we can be in touch with all parties ahead of your respective Workshop.

Cost:

  • $300 for Road-to-College Workshops (4 hours)

  • $450 for College Admissions Workshops (8+ hours)

  • Note: Discounts available upon request if purchasing multiple Workshop dates or Workshops for multiple students!
